Your brain is about 85% water, so it’s not surprising that it’s one of the parts of your body that’s most sensitive to dehydration. Even very mild dehydration can impair mental performance, making you less sharp and responsive, and it can lead to tiredness, irritability and headaches too.
As dehydration can occur before you feel thirsty, it’s best to keep drinking a little water often. Carrying water with you at work, at school or when you’re out and about is good for your mind as well as your body.
